Description
A beautifully structured Barbera d’Asti from old vines, combining vivid red fruit, refined oak influence and the freshness that makes this style so appealing.
Winemaking
After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and fermented with skin maceration for around 14 to 18 days, allowing the wine to develop colour, tannin and aromatic depth. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is drawn off and undergoes malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity and bring greater roundness and balance. It is then rested in French oak tonneaux, where it ages gracefully and gains added complexity.
Wine Profile
Tenuta Il Finale Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2023 is made from 40 to 65-year-old vines in Castagnole delle Lanze, planted at 280 metres above sea level with a south-east exposure. The wine reflects the estate’s commitment to sustainable viticulture and careful hand harvesting. Extended maceration gives it depth and structure, while controlled malolactic fermentation refines its natural acidity. The result is a powerful yet balanced wine, with vivid red fruit aromas supported by subtle oak notes that add further complexity and character.
Tasting Notes
Rich in colour and full-bodied in style, this Barbera offers velvety tannins and a lively backbone of acidity, giving it both freshness and depth.
Food Pairing
Best served at 16–18°C, it pairs beautifully with traditional Piemontese dishes such as Tajarin al Ragù, Agnolotti del Plin and classic hunter’s stew.
