Description
A refined Barbera d’Asti from the 2024 vintage, offering freshness, depth and elegance, shaped by a long ripening season and careful winemaking.
2024 Vintage Report
The 2024 vintage was marked by a cool, wet spring that replenished water reserves but required constant attention in the vineyard due to disease pressure. A warm, temperate summer followed, allowing the grapes to ripen steadily and evenly without the extremes seen in recent years. Harvest came later than usual, but the extended growing season brought greater depth, freshness and refined aromatics to the fruit. While yields were modest, the vintage was widely praised for its quality, with wines showing impressive aromatic precision, clarity and excellent ageing potential.
Wine Profile
Barbera d’Asti Terroir Series 83 DOCG 2024 is made from fruit grown on clay soils in Castagnole delle Lanze, from 35 to 40-year-old vines planted at 280 metres above sea level with a south-east exposure. The wine reflects the estate’s dedication to sustainable viticulture and precise hand harvesting. Extended maceration adds depth and structure, while carefully managed malolactic fermentation helps soften and refine the wine’s natural acidity.
Tasting Notes
Bright red in colour with attractive purple hues. The nose is welcoming and fruit-driven, led by intense cherry notes. On the palate, it is fresh and expressive with light tannins, making it both elegant and approachable.
Food Pairing
A great match for cured meats, roasted meats and classic Piemontese appetisers.
Cellaring
Delicious to enjoy now, yet it will continue to develop gracefully over time for those who choose to cellar it.
