Description

A symbol of Calabria’s finest winemaking, this single-vineyard wine is made from the region’s oldest native grape, Gaglioppo, grown in the low-yield hillside vineyards of the Mancuso estate at the heart of Cirò.

Production Technique

The grapes are left to ripen on the hills until mid-to-late October, then carefully selected. After a long maceration on the skins, the wine is adequately aged for 12 months in oak barrels, enhancing its elegance and smoothness.

Characteristics

Ruby-red with lively reflections, the bouquet offers elegant aromas of sour cherry, plum, spices, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied, smooth, and delicately tannic.

Pairing Suggestions

A prestigious red, perfect with game, roasts, and braised meats
