The ancient Greeks called topaz gemma del sole. Translating to gem of the sun. An apt name for a wine that is, quite literally, made from sunlight. Sweet, persistent, and perfectly balanced.

Description

In line with our philosophy of showcasing native grape varieties, we were inspired to create a great dessert wine from Greco Bianco, Calabria’s most ancient grape. For its brightness and intensity, we named it Gemma del Sole, the name the ancient Greeks gave to topaz, symbolising serenity, nobility of spirit, and sincere friendships.
Production Technique

The hand-harvested, carefully selected grapes are laid on mats to dry in the sun for about 40 days, concentrating their natural sugars. They are then gently pressed, and the wine is aged for 12 months in fine French oak barrels.
Characteristics

Bright topaz in colour, with complex aromas of citrus, dried figs, and honey. On the palate, it is sweet, persistent, and perfectly balanced.
Pairing Suggestions

An excellent dessert wine, also ideal with medium and long-aged cheeses.
