The Winery
Fattoria dei Barbi is one of Montalcino’s oldest and most prestigious producers, owned by the Cinelli Colombini family. With a long-standing reputation for quality and heritage, the estate is deeply rooted in the history of Tuscan winemaking.

Winemaking
This wine was created as a special experiment led by Stefano Cinelli Colombini. The 2015 vintage had already spent two years ageing in traditional large, old Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a further six months in smaller barrels. It was then transferred into egg-shaped vessels, where it rested for another nine months before the final blend was assembled and bottled in July 2019. The wine was released after a further 12 months of bottle ageing.

Style & Character
The result is a distinctive Sangiovese that combines the structure and depth of traditional oak ageing with the purity, texture and subtle refinement gained from extended maturation in egg vessels.
